For a fourth consecutive week Cyndi Lauper's True Colors moves up the UK top 200 (top 100 only ever published).
Last week True Colors was at number 121 and moves up the chart 42 places to number 79.

Back in 2008 True Colors re-entered the UK singles chart at number number 90 (12.10.08) and remained in the chart for 2 weeks. This was the first time since 1986.

An upcoming Bones episode promises to be so unusual, and not just because it marks the return of Cyndi Lauper‘s recurring psychic Avalon Harmonia.

Executive producer Stephen Nathan confirms that the ’80s pop icon has signed on to reprise her kooky clairvoyant in one of the show’s Season 7 standalone bonus episodes.

“It’s a departure for us,” says Nathan. “We’re doing the entire episode from the point of view of the victim. It’s a stylistic challenge but one we’ve been thinking about tackling for quite a while. Since these four episodes are sort of free floating, this seemed to be the right time to do it.”

Bones creator Hart Hanson broke the news of Lauper’s comeback on Twitter Monday. “Writing dialogue for the incomparable Cyndi Lauper AKA Avalon Harmonia is a BLAST,” he wrote.

(NEW YORK) – April 9, 2012. Grammy Award winner, activist and actress Cyndi Lauper has signed a deal for Cyndi Lauper: A Memoir to be published this coming fall by Atria Books. Written with journalist Jancee Dunn, the book will detail for the first time Cyndi’s tumultuous years growing up in Queens, the ups and downs of a career that has spanned over three decades, her conflicted feelings on fame and her advocacy of equality for all that led to the creation of her foundation, the True Colors Fund.

At 17, Cyndi left her chaotic home life with no prospects and no money. While taking jobs at the racetrack, as an I-Hop waitress and gal Friday, music was her refuge. She moved from band to band, playing small gigs and finally landed a solo deal. In 1983 she broke out with “She’s So Unusual” which earned her a Grammy for Best New Artist and made her the first female artist in history to have five top 10 singles on a debut album.

“Most of us think of Cyndi as the free-spirited girl who just wants to have fun and her many die-hard fans will be surprised to know her real life story,” says Judith Curr, Executive Vice President and Publisher, Atria Books.

Cyndi Lauper played her first US show on Saturday, 7th April 2012 at Universal Studios as part of the annual Mardi Gras celebration.

This was an outdoor concert and about 4 pm Cyndi Lauper took to the stage to do a soundcheck where fans waiting in the crowd for the show could watch and listen. During the soundcheck Cyndi performed Down So Low and Set Your Heart which where not sung later during the show.

Singing superstar Cyndi Lauper just wants to have a little fun in Louisville come Derby time. The Grammy Award-winning songstress is coming to town as a guest of the Kentucky Derby Festival and will serve as the grand marshal for the 57th annual Republic Bank Pegasus Parade on May 3.

She’ll also be treating guests to a mini performance before the parade marches down Broadway at 5 p.m., including belting out her hit song, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” while dancers from local dance company 360 Dance perform.

While she’s in town, Lauper will also be a guest of the Barnstable Brown Gala on Derby Eve and appear at the Celebrity Day at the Downs, held at 11:30 a.m. May 3 at Churchill Downs.

“We think Cyndi Lauper will bring tremendous energy and excitement as grand marshal,” said Stacey Robinson, the Festival’s senior vice president of operations.
